My buyers were searching for a home in the Indianapolis area near their daughter and soon to be new grandchild.

After our consultation and a few showings, we came across this unique home, filled with character. From the vaulted living room ceilings and a two-story fireplace to built-ins, skylights, and a spacious loft, they knew this was the home they wanted to fill with love and toys for their future grandchildren.

I'm about to give you some advice that is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I usually tell my clients!

When we're selling your home, we want to create a neutral canvas for buyers to picture moving their families and belongings right into.

So I tell you to take down the personal photos of the kids, put your shoes away neatly in the closet, and keep your kitchen and bathroom countertops meticulously clean and uncluttered.

But when you're moving in? Here's how to make your home feel like yours right out of the gate.:

Hang art on the walls (yes, even your kids' art and family photos. You're not selling anytime soon, right?!).

Don't worry about perfectly coordinating the furniture. Buy pieces you like and let your style speak for itself.

Live in your home. Don't worry about cleaning it yet or making sure all of the boxes are unpacked before you invite friends over.

Buyer: Hey Madison, this house is right next door to my family's house. I want to go look at it and possibly put in an offer to move back to my home town.

Have you heard? 🤔

National Ice Cream Day is this Sunday and in my opinion, ice cream is definitely worth celebrating!

So, in honor of this weekend, here are a few places to go for a scoop, a sundae, or my favorite, a turtle sundae:

🍦 : Serving up some of the best homemade Mexican-style ice cream in the area.
🍦 : You can't go wrong with the impressive menu and ambiance on the historic Danville Square.
🍦 : Place an order at this local gem through one of their walk-up windows or better yet, the drive-through!
🍦 : With a wonderful assortment of flavors and the mini kids cones, this has to be one of my favorite places to visit with the family.

And finally...Frost Bite: They have been gracing the Avon community with their delicious soft serve and traditional comfort food for years!

Fun fact: Did you know chocolate syrup is the world's most popular ice cream topping? Nothing beats a classic!
