“Should we just wait until spring to sell?” 🍂
I’ve been getting this question a lot lately—from people thinking about selling and sellers whose homes are already on the market.
In previous years, I’ve sometimes recommended taking a break around the holidays and trying again in the spring. This year, I think there’s a reason to look more closely at that strategy.
As homes sell and some sellers pull their listings for the holidays, inventory could shrink. That could create an opportunity for sellers who stay on the market: **fewer homes competing for buyers’ attention.**
Spring may bring more buyers, but it can also bring a fresh wave of competing listings.
Does that mean everyone should sell now? Of course not. Your timing, finances, and goals all matter. But I wouldn’t automatically assume waiting until spring puts you in a better position.
