UPDATE: Message from contractor for the Main Street Bridge project: All the bridge demolition work was completed on Friday night/Saturday morning. There will not be another freeway closure on Saturday evening into Sunday morning.


Heads up, Denton County! This weekend, the Texas Department of Transportation will close all of I-35E in Lewisville from Valley Ridge Parkway to Fox Avenue to remove the two northern lanes of the FM 1171/Main Street bridge. The closure will start at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights and last until 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please plan your routes accordingly and stay safe!

📢 Demolition work to remove the two northern lanes of the Main Street bridge is scheduled to start Friday, Sept. 6, 9 p.m. through Saturday, Sept. 7, 11 a.m. All lanes will be opened back up at 11 a.m. and then close again starting Saturday, Sept. 7, 9 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 8 , 11 a.m.

🚗Traffic Control Summary:
📌Northbound IH 35E
* All traffic will be required to Exit 451 (Main Street/Fox Avenue).
* The lane closure needed for traffic to be detoured Exit 451 (Fox Avenue) will start near Corporate Drive.
* All Northbound IH-35E entrance ramps starting near Corporate Drive will be closed. This will be the ramps coming from Corporate Drive, Business 121 & Fox Avenue.
* Police officers will be at the Business 121 and Main Street (FM 1171) intersections to assist with traffic control.

📌 Southbound IH 35E
* All traffic will be required to Exit 452 (Main Street/FM 1171).
* The lane closure needed for traffic to be detoured to Exit 452 (Main Street/FM 1171) would start north of Justin Road (FM 407).
* The Southbound IH 35E entrance ramp coming from Justin Road (FM 407) will be closed.
* Police officers will be at the Main Street intersection to assist with traffic control.
