Cabin update: New subfloor for great room. Insulated and sheeted. (Protected with tarp until the roof dried in). New kitchen window framed and installed. Laying out the back utility building for water pump and solar panel/battery system.

Be careful with apparent "leaks" in your ceiling. It just may be mice problems, and not the roof. True story. Nearly 10 leaks spots need to be ripped out, and re'sheetrocked.

FLASHBACK to 2004-6 BUILDING MY DREAM HOME.. with one helper. Michael Crimi and 1 other man, set every log, set every beam, timber, ...laid every hardwood floor, and tile,, kitchen cabinets, to electrical,, stone work and roof. 19 months to build this 3200 sqft Log Home. I also developed the land, and prepared the foundation for concrete calls to be set. (Pre cast insulated Superior walls) 1200 ft driveway to be graded, and 20 loads of stone. Then 11 ft deep area was dug out for basement.

Building materials jump in price again this week Feb 28, 2022.
Average price of OSB was $7 before covid. 2x4 treated were $2.40. 1/2” conduit was $1.00.

Major increases in building materials again. OSB jumped from $28 or sheet last week, to $42 today. 2x4s and other sheeting also rose by at least 20%. OSB peaked at $44 per sheet last spring/ summer. Many predict it will surpass last years prices. Note: ( in 2019 precovid, OSB was $6.55 per sheet).
