Thought I should share an update following my granddaughter running away and the absolute miracle that followed.
She was walking down a busy road, in the dark and freezing cold. A man was on his way to the gym and saw her by herself. He pulled over and talked to her, eventually convincing her that he would take her to a safe place. He picked up dinner on the way for her since it was late and she hadn't eaten. He then dropped her off at a youth center so she could get help. We are well aware of how differently this could have ended and SO grateful to this unknown man for being aware that she couldn't be in a good situation. The Center offers counseling and an after school program and Izze will be participating in that. Most of you know that she and her younger sister suffered horrific childhood trauma as a result of my son's ex-wife who herself suffered from terrible mental illness and alcoholism, eventually resulting in the loss of her parental rights. We have a long road ahead, but I know, with help, that she will fight thru this.
Thank you to those of you who prayed for her last night. She was missing for 5+ hours and it was agonizing for us! We are thankful for God's tender mercies and His incredible awareness of each one of us. God bless you all.
