I just turned 27 years old yesterday, and it made me reflect on my adult life so far. It's been a fun ride.
When I was 19, I dropped out of the University of Utah and got my real estate license.
I had a scholarship. I was on a pretty normal path. Degree, job, the whole thing.
After one semester I just wasn’t into it. The classes felt uninspiring, and I was eager to start making money.
So I joined my family’s real estate team and went all in. At 19 years old.
I remember one of my first showings. The buyer got out of his car, looked at me and said,
“What the… you look like you just got out of high school.” He wasn't wrong. I didn't know what I was doing. I never heard from him again.
That kind of thing happened more than once.
So I did what I could control. I made cold calls. I knocked doors. I followed up. I learned how to actually put deals together. And how they fall apart.
No big breakthrough moment. Just lots of reps.
I’m 8 years into this now.
I’ve worked with flippers, wholesalers, teams, investors. I’ve tried building my own team. I’ve had good years and slower ones. I’ve seen how fast this business can feel when things are moving… and how quiet it can get.
I've been fortunate enough to have success. I have a roof over my head, my family is taken care of, bills are paid. I'm grateful for all of it.
I chose this early. And I’ve stayed with it.
Still learning. Still building. If you've supported me through any of it, you know who you are. Thank you.
