As we spring ahead to daylight savings time, let’s keep in mind to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If your detectors are over 5 years old, I’d recommend installing new detectors.

If at all possible and if safety allows, make sure to have your Home Inspector walk the roof looking for defects and deficiencies. Found this moisture damaged / rotted wood fascia on a relatively new house. The rest of the fascia was wrapped in aluminum, the builder missed this section. Not sure it would have been visible using a drone.

Thoughts ?
During an inspection this morning found these sliding doors. Distressed paint made to look old or lead base paint? Anyone else run into anything similar? Everyone likes to decorate with the old look.

Remember to stay safe and enjoy the holiday season. Don’t overload extension cords and power strips. Especially in older homes where electrical wiring and electrical outlets are typically not up to today’s modern requirements.
