Real estate doesn't always have to be serious.
Don't get me wrong, I take my job very seriously, but every now and then you come across a deal that makes you start plucking out every new gray hair that magically appeared during escrow. (Don't worry, I'm not doing that. New pink hair dye, however, is definitely on the table. 💕)
When key day rolled around and Mrs. suggested we recreate some light hearted poses she'd seen, we were all in. 🤣📸
What these photos don't show is the adventure we went through.
My partner and I moved quickly to help them purchase a home they fell in love with in Crocker Highlands. Then came the next challenge: selling their Oakland condo.
After plenty of showings, we found the right buyer. They loved the home, wrote an offer that worked, and had financing with a large, well-known lender that assured everyone things were in excellent shape. We were even told closing docs were happening, until they weren’t. 😬
Issues started surfacing that should have been vetted by the lender long before they advised the buyer on how to write their offer.
BUYERS: Here's a tip. Ask your lender if the condo community you're looking at is approved in their system. If it isn't, DO NOT REMOVE YOUR HOA CONTINGENCY.
Yes, that deserved all caps. 😅
What should have been a straightforward closing quickly became a scramble to save the deal. While we as the listing agents wanted to be angry about how badly this lender dropped the ball, we knew we had to stay focused on solutions.
We tapped into our network, connected the buyer with one of our go-to lenders, and worked alongside everyone involved to keep the deal alive. 💪
And in the end? We got it closed. 🎉
