Walking the halls of Congress representing California realtors is not something I ever pictured for myself. Yet here I am.

This week I am in Washington DC with Bay East advocating for housing solutions that help more people achieve homeownership. Meeting with lawmakers. Sharing the real stories buyers and sellers bring to me every day in the Tri-Valley.

Our work goes far beyond transactions. It is about people, communities, and creating opportunities for the next generation of homeowners.

Feeling a little mesmerized on Capitol Hill. And completely motivated to bring everything I learn back home.

Realtors don't usually end up in Congressional offices, this week I was lucky enough to travel to Washington DC to represent my California community.

I'm in Washington DC representing the California Association of Realtors, meeting with members of Congress to discuss housing affordability, supply and protecting homeownership for families across California.

12 years ago I had no idea this business was actually about families, not just houses.

I got into real estate because I love touring neighborhoods and helping people. What I discovered is that every transaction is someone starting a new chapter. First homes, dream homes, growing families, and downsizing. The houses matter but the people are always my favorite part.

People think we just unlock doors all day. Meanwhile, I'm up at 6am with my coffee because today is a marathon of:

-Reviewing listings & disclosures
-Coordinating with lenders & calling buyers
-Meeting inspectors & checking repairs
-Visiting homes & scheduling photos
-Marketing work & open houses
..all while trying to fit in a workout and eat lunch!

Max thinks he runs the business, but he still needs his walks. Every day is different. Every client is different. Every transaction is different. But helping my Tri-Valley people reach the finish line never gets old.

108 years of rodeo tradition in Livermore. This event continues to bring the community together.

The cardboard hats, the boots, the downtown energy. This is exactly why I love living and working in the Tri-Valley. You can't always find communities with roots like these.

Colombians and soccer. We don't just watch the game, we live it.

Growing up, the World Cup meant family, and strangers would become friends in the streets, and yes, screaming through Pleasanton because Colombia beat Argentina.

Sports connect people the same way community does. That's what I love about the Tri-Valley. People they show up for each other.
