What does a Realtor actually do all day?

Apparently, a lot of things that would seem completely unhinged in any other profession. 😂🏡

I walk into strangers’ homes and open their closets.

I photograph furnaces, water heaters and electrical panels like they’re important family milestones.

I get excited about a new roof.

I’ve cleaned houses I don’t own, moved furniture six inches because it was bothering me, picked weeds before a showing, and obsessed over whether a toilet seat was down before photos.

I drive slowly past houses to see what’s going on.

I analyze “They liked it” like I’m an FBI profiler.

And yes, I’ve gotten emotionally attached to houses that aren’t even mine. 😂

Somehow, after years in real estate, all of this feels completely normal.

Exciting closing day for my buyers! 🏡🐴

They fell in love with this beautiful Saline farmhouse the moment we saw it, and today they officially got the keys! 🔑 I’m so excited for them and all the memories they’re going to make here with their horses and other furry family members too! 🐶🐱🐷🐴

This was also my second buyer deal this year with the same listing agent, Dave Willoughby, and just like the first one, there were smiles all around the closing table. 😊 Another smooth, successful sale with happy families on both sides is always the best way to close!

Real estate feels pretty easy when everything goes according to plan.

But after years in this business, I’ve learned that the real value of having an experienced Realtor shows up when something doesn’t.

An appraisal comes in low. An inspection uncovers an issue. A buyer gets nervous. Something unexpected pops up right before closing. 👀

My goal is always to be one step ahead. In fact, most of the time, I’m already working on a solution before my clients even know there’s a problem.

I don’t believe in creating unnecessary stress or handing my clients a problem without also being able to explain what our options are and what I recommend we do next.

Sometimes that means making a few phone calls behind the scenes. Sometimes it means negotiating, finding the right professional, getting more information, or simply knowing when something really is or isn’t a big deal.

I love a smooth transaction, but experience matters most when things aren’t going smoothly.
