🦌 Meet Liberty! 🇺🇸
This little fawn was born right in our backyard on the Sunday before Memorial Day here in Livonia. We named her Liberty, and her mama is Lady.
One of the biggest misconceptions about baby deer is that they've been abandoned if they're found alone. In reality, mama deer often leave their fawns hidden for 12, 16, or even 18 hours while they forage for food. They return several times a day to nurse and care for them.
If you ever come across a fawn lying quietly in the grass:
❌ Don't touch it
❌ Don't move it
❌ Don't assume it's abandoned
The best thing you can do is admire it from a distance and let nature take its course.
We've enjoyed watching Liberty's first few days of life from our half-acre backyard and thought we'd share this special moment with everyone.
And if you've always dreamed of seeing deer and other wildlife right from your own backyard, send us a message. We'd be happy to share some of the neighborhoods in Livonia and Metro Detroit where deer sightings are common and help you find a home that fits your lifestyle.
