We have decided to let this part of our yard go “au naturale” simply because it’s so difficult to maintain a hill like this. The hill is mostly covered with English ivy. It’s certainly very green! Please give me your opinion …good or bad 😆.

I did not expect to see baby birds in September, however after reading up on cardinals, I learned they have up to 4 sets of offspring in a summer with the last one in August. We are enjoying watching a family of adorable baby cardinals❤️. Message me if you would like to know how to attract more cardinals to your yard.

The class reunion that just doesn’t end! Still celebrating with friends. Last night we had dinner at our cabin on Billington and stayed up way past our bedtime. I’m so happy that my stepdaughter Sherry has met some of my friends and joined in on the fun!

There are few things more relaxing than morning coffee in my backyard bird haven….according to my bird app, we had 19 species of birds here this morning. If you would like to turn your backyard into a peaceful oasis, message me, and I will share with you the feeders, food, and shelters that have worked for us.

Having an amazing week with friends who have traveled from far and wide for our class reunion! We have been reminiscing and looking back on our schooldays, realizing now just how lucky we were to have such a wonderful childhood on the South Shore. Duxbury beach days, White Horse beach days, trips to Martha’s Vineyard on the Island Queen with our bikes, hanging out at the Kingston Jones River (the Ah-Dee-Nah) and much more!

This is a sampling of some of my summer photos taken at Billington Sea here in Plymouth. For any nature enthusiasts new to Plymouth, Billington Sea is part of Morton Park (a fully recreational park) which is open to the public. The last eagle photo is taken from quite a distance, but I included it to show the size of the eagle nest.

Hydrangea trees can add curb appeal to your home with very little labor involved! They bloom after all of the blue varieties. As far as maintenance, all I do is prune them after their blooming period (after harvesting lots of blossoms for drying). The one in the forefront is a Panicled hydrangea tree and the one in the background is a Limelight hydrangea tree. I give these a fairly severe pruning every year because otherwise they will grow too large for the area.
