Sometimes, just like an old house, we need a little refresh too. ❤️

I started Western riding in my 50s, and it has been an absolute blast. I certainly didn’t start because I knew exactly what I was doing—I started because I wanted to try something new, challenge myself, and do something that made me happy.

And I’m so glad I did.

There’s something pretty amazing about being a beginner again. Learning new things, making mistakes, laughing at yourself, setting goals, and realizing that you’re capable of more than you thought.

We spend so much of our lives working, taking care of everyone else, building businesses, raising families, and checking things off the never-ending list. Somewhere along the way, it’s easy to forget that we’re still allowed to have new dreams of our own.

Old houses are kind of my thing, and I’ve learned that sometimes the best parts are already there—they just need a little love, a new purpose, and someone willing to see what they can become.

Maybe people are a little like that too.

So take the lesson. Ride the horse. Start the business. Learn the skill. Take the trip. Pick up the hobby you’ve always wondered about.

You don’t have to be the youngest, the best, or even know exactly what you’re doing.

You just have to start.

It is NEVER too late to try something new. ❤️🐴

Here’s to following those dreams—at any age.

Our Dartmouth project is making some amazing progress! 🙌

Remember this 300-year-old Cape? This house needed to be completely lifted so we could pour a brand-new, FEMA-approved foundation underneath it—no small undertaking for a home that has been standing for three centuries!

Now we’re making our way up to the roof, working with beautiful antique windows, and carefully putting this historic home back together while making sure it’s ready for another 300 years.

There is so much happening here, both old and new, and I can’t wait to show you more of the process. Stay tuned—this is going to be a good one! 🏡

What’s hiding behind the walls of a 300-year-old house? 👀

Framing is officially complete at this 1700s Cape, and before we cover it all back up, I’m taking you inside to see some of the things we’ve uncovered—and how we’re rebuilding this antique home for another generation.

Next up: plumbing and electrical!

We also love walking through our projects with our clients and giving them an update on everything that’s happening. And, of course, it’s always so nice to see our lovely clients, too! ❤️

This is one of my favorite stages of renovating an old house because you can actually see how it was built, what has changed over the centuries, and all the work that has to happen behind the walls before the pretty finishes ever go in.

This 1700s Cape is well on its way to becoming a beautiful home for this family. Come see the progress—and some of the things you’ll never see again once those walls are closed up!
