They came out of nowhere — a whole pod of little black dolphins, playing and traveling alongside our boat off the Nāpali Coast.

Watching them felt like a reminder that connection doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just movement, presence — showing up beside one another for the pure delight of being in our element.

On this World Kindness Day, may we all move a little more like dolphins: generous with our joy, effortless in our belonging, and unafraid to play in the ocean's wake. 💙

There are days in Kauai that feel impossible to hold. From the emerald peaks of Nāpali Coast to the burst of Spouting Horn, and dinner with a view so perfect at the Grand Hyatt it looks painted on the horizon.

If only I could bottle those days: sea spray on my face, the scent of hibiscus and sunscreen, dolphins racing the boat, a parrot calling from the lobby while the sun slips away in rose gold.

Looking back at photos I try to uncork that moment—feel the warmth on my shoulders, the jasmine in the air, the way time slows. It's why we take pictures, but they never capture the feels.
