📢 PSA: THE LONGEST-TERM DOG IS STILL WAITING…
88 days.
Bean is officially the longest-term dog in rescue… and no one can come up with a single valid reason why.
He’s not difficult.
He’s not complicated.
He’s not “needs a unicorn home.”
He is quite literally a walking, bouncing, slightly confused marshmallow of joy… and somehow that’s not enough to stop people from scrolling.
So before you do the same thing—share him. comment. boost him. Because clearly the algorithm is not doing him any favors.
Journal Entry, Day 88
Bean | Male | Great Pyrenees Mix | 6 Months Old | 49 Pounds of Emotional Support Marshmallow
Dear Journal,
It has been 88 days since I entered rescue.
At this point, I have to assume there’s been a clerical error.
Because I am soft.
I am lovable.
I am… objectively delightful.
And yet here I remain. Waiting. Bouncing. Still convinced I am a 12-pound lap dog.
A Day in the Life of Bean: “Big Feelings, Bigger Body”
6:45 AM: Wake up. Stretch. Forget my size immediately.
7:00 AM: Breakfast. Act like I’ve never eaten before.
8:00 AM: Play with dog friends. Bring enthusiasm. Bring chaos (lovingly).
10:00 AM: Nap. Dream of snacks.
12:00 PM: Follow humans around. Assist. No one asked, but still.
2:00 PM: Zoomies. Trip. Recover. Repeat.
4:00 PM: Yard time. Live my best marshmallow life.
6:00 PM: Dinner. Again, shocking and wonderful.
8:00 PM: Attempt to sit in lap. Emotionally succeed.
Bedtime: Collapse into fluffy heap. Recharge for tomorrow.
Checklist: Why This Dog Being Overlooked Makes No Sense
âś… Literal Emotional Support Dessert
Soft, sweet, affectionate, and somehow always the best part of your day.
âś… Dog Social Superstar
Loves other dogs. Wrestling, running, general goober behavior—it’s his passion.
âś… Personality: Giant Goof
Clumsy, happy, and completely unaware of his own size. It’s not a flaw. It’s a lifestyle.
âś… Energy Level: 6/10
Not wired, not lazy—just a happy, playful puppy who also knows how to settle.
âś… Loves People (Deeply & Enthusiastically)
Assumes everyone exists to love him or play with him. Honestly, fair.
Bean isn’t being overlooked because he’s lacking anything.
He’s being overlooked because people aren’t taking the time to actually see him.
And that’s the frustrating part—because this is the dog people adopt and then say,
“Yeah… he’s actually perfect.”
