“Where’s the water supposed to go? 👀💧”

This roof had a gutter installed… but no downspout and no opening for the water to drain out. Instead of flowing away from the home properly, water was backing up and being forced uphill against the flashing.

The result?
When Todd inspected the attic, he found moisture damage on the roof decking from water intrusion.

This is a great reminder that gutters aren’t just there to look nice — they’re designed to CONTROL water. Even small installation mistakes can lead to hidden damage over time.

A few signs something may be wrong:
