Tuesday’s Smart Tip: Let's Clear the Air!

This photo from underneath a home shows flexible ductwork being used for the dryer exhaust. For this part of the vent, smooth metal ductwork is recommended. Flexible material can trap lint in its ridges and can sag or kink, restricting airflow.

The good news? This is a practical maintenance item to address with a qualified professional. Proper ductwork helps your dryer move warm, moist air outside and reduces lint buildup.

Buyers: Ask about the dryer vent’s condition and where it exits the home.

Realtors: This is a helpful item to check when preparing a home to list—especially when the duct runs through a crawlspace.
