🔥⚠️ BURN BAN ISSUED🔥⚠️

St. Johns County has issued a countywide burn ban effective immediately through April 27, 2026, due to extreme drought conditions and elevated wildfire risk across Northeast Florida. The burn ban may be extended if hazardous conditions persist.

Under the burn ban, all outdoor burning is prohibited, including:

🚫 Yard debris burning
🚫 Campfires and bonfires
🚫 Unattended open flames

Residents are urged to avoid any activity that could spark a fire, including improper disposal of ci******es, use of fireworks, or parking vehicles on dry grass.

As you head to the beach this spring, keep our beach rules in mind!

▪️ No drinking alcoholic beverages in public;
▪️ No nudity is allowed;
▪️ No possession of controlled substances;
▪️ No glass bottles or containers on the beach;
▪️ No throwing debris on the beach or into the ocean;
▪️ No walking, sitting, or standing on the sand dunes; and
▪️ No grills on the beach
▪️ No public intoxication or endangerment of the safety of another person or property;

And remember, CLEAN, DARK, FLAT for our nesting sea turtles. Please fill in any holes before you leave the beach!

⚠️ Severe Water Shortage ⚠️

The St. Johns River Water Management District has issued a Phase II Severe Water Shortage Declaration affecting St. Johns County and several other counties across Northeast Florida following prolonged dry conditions and declining groundwater levels.

The declaration applies to Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, along with portions of several additional counties within the District’s jurisdiction. The action reflects regional drought conditions that have developed across Northeast and Central Florida after extended rainfall deficits and declining groundwater levels.

Outdoor irrigation typically represents the largest share of residential water use. Following the once-per-week irrigation schedule and limiting unnecessary watering are among the most effective ways residents can help conserve water during dry conditions.
