Home isn’t always where you start.

If we were sitting on this porch together

I think we’d eventually talk about something people don’t always say out loud.

Sometimes,
Home isn’t a place you found,
✨It’s a place you had to build.

👉Maybe your first apartment didn’t feel like home.
👉Maybe you grew up moving every few years.
👉Maybe you’re raising kids in a house that no longer fits your family.
👉Or maybe you’re finally at a place in life where you’re thinking
✨It’s time for something that’s ours.

I think that’s why buying a home can feel so emotional.

It isn’t just about making a financial decision.

👉It’s about hoping life might feel different on the other side of it.

✨A little more settled.
✨A little more peaceful.
✨A little more rooted.

That’s something I never want to lose sight of as a Realtor.

Because every family walks into this process carrying a story that started long before they called an agent.

And every story deserves to be heard.

So here’s this week’s Front Porch question,

What’s one thing that has always made a place feel like “home” to you?

Not the address.
Not the size.

Just “the thing” that made it feel like home.

I’d love to hear your story.

Some weeks are easy to measure.

👉You check things off the list.
👉You hit a goal.

You can clearly see the progress.

But most weeks don’t look like that.

✨Sometimes progress is simply showing up when you don’t feel like it.
✨Making the phone call you’ve been putting off.
✨Learning something new.
✨Having one meaningful conversation.
✨Taking one small step toward the life you’re trying to build.

This week reminded me that growth usually happens long before we ever see the results.

As I wrapped up another week in real estate, I found myself feeling grateful, not because everything is happening as quickly as I’d like, but because I know I’m building something that lasts.

✨Relationships take time.
✨Trust takes time.
✨Dreams take time.

And that’s okay.

So before Monday arrives and the busyness begins again,

Take a moment to look back.

I bet you’ve come farther than you’re giving yourself credit for.

What’s one small win you’re celebrating from last week?

I’d love to celebrate it with you.

Sometimes the places that stay with us aren’t the ones with the biggest house or the fanciest features.

They’re the ones that make us stop for a moment and imagine a different way of living.

✨A slower morning.
✨Coffee on the porch before the day begins.
✨Watching the sunrise over the water.
✨More room for family gatherings.
✨A little more peace.

Maybe that’s what finding the right home is really about.

Not just finding a property,
👉Finding the place where life feels the way you’ve always hoped it would

👉 and reminding us that home is about so much more than four walls.

Behind the scenes this week looked like a lot of phone calls, research, learning, and following up.

And while those things may not seem exciting,
👉They’re some of the most important parts of my job.

Because every hour I spend learning, asking questions, reviewing contracts, or staying current with the market is really about one thing:

👉Helping someone else feel a little less overwhelmed.

If you’re buying your first home,

You shouldn’t have to feel like you need a degree in real estate just to make a good decision.

👉You deserve someone who will slow down.
👉Explain things clearly.
👉Answer every question.
👉And help you move forward with confidence instead of fear.

That’s what all of the “behind the scenes” work is preparing me to do.

Most people think they’re buying a house.

I think they’re really choosing where life is going to happen.

✨They’re choosing Saturday mornings at the farmer’s market.
✨They’re choosing the familiar faces who remember their name.
✨They’re choosing the place where their kids will grow up knowing what it feels like to belong to a community.

Because the truth is,
👉A home isn’t just the walls you live within.
👉It’s the conversations you’ll have.
👉The traditions you’ll create.
👉The memories you’ll make.
👉It’s watching your children wave at neighbors.
👉Supporting local families.
👉Running into friends while picking up fresh produce.

Those little moments become the story of home.

That’s one of the many reasons I’m proud to call this area home.

If you’re looking for more than just a house, if you’re looking for a place where life can truly happen, I would love to help you find it.

❤️ What’s one local place that immediately feels like “home” to you?

One of the biggest myths I hear is,

👉“I probably can’t afford to buy a home.”

Sometimes, that’s true.

But many times, people rule themselves out before ever talking to a lender.

An FHA loan is one option that helps make homeownership more accessible for many buyers.

It may offer:
👉A lower down payment than many people expect
👉More flexible credit guidelines than some conventional loans
👉An opportunity to start your homeownership journey sooner than you thought

Every buyer’s situation is different, which is why the first step isn’t house shopping,

✨It’s having a conversation.

If buying a home has been on your mind, even if you’re not sure you’re ready, I’d be happy to help point you in the right direction and connect you with a trusted local lender to explore your options.

Sometimes the answer is, “Let’s start now.”

Sometimes it’s, “Here’s what to work on first.”

Either way, you’ll have a plan.

Buying your first home doesn’t have to feel out of reach.

What’s one question you’ve always had about buying your first home?

One of the biggest mistakes people make when buying land,

👉is only seeing it from the road.

A property can look perfect from the entrance, but the real story often starts once you step onto it.

Walk it.

👉Notice how the land lays.
👉Pay attention to where water collects.
👉Look at the neighboring properties.
👉Think about how the sun hits the property in the morning and evening.
👉Picture yourself there in every season, not just on the beautiful day you first visit.

The best piece of land isn’t always the one with the prettiest listing photos.

It’s the one that fits the life you want to build.

✨Whether that’s a future home
✨A hunting property
✨A place for your kids to explore
✨Or simply somewhere to slow down after a busy week

Land should work for your vision.

That’s why I”ll always encourage people to look beyond the listing and ask questions before making a decision.

If you’ve ever dreamed about owning land,

What would your ideal property include?

If we were sitting on this porch together,

I probably wouldn’t start by asking,
How many bedrooms are you looking for?

I’d probably ask something different.

I’d ask

✨What do you want life to feel like when you get home?

Because the truth is,
✨Very few people are actually shopping for square footage.

👉They’re looking for peace.
👉For space.
👉For a place where the kids can run.
👉A workshop.
👉A front porch.
👉Room for family dinners.
👉A little more quiet.
👉Maybe even a fresh start.

The house is important.
✨But what happens inside that house matters even more.

That’s one of the reasons I wanted to become a Realtor.

Not because I love contracts or paperwork,
👉But because every home has a story waiting to be lived in.

And helping people find the place where that story begins is something I’ll never take lightly.

So here’s this week’s Front Porch question,

When you picture “home,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

Not the house.
✨The feeling.

I’d genuinely love to hear your answer.

Sunday has become one of my favorite days of the week.

It’s the one day I try to slow down enough to look back before rushing into what’s next.

This week reminded me that progress doesn’t always come in big moments.

👉Sometimes it’s learning something new.
👉Sometimes it’s having a conversation that sticks with you.
👉Sometimes it’s simply showing up again when no one sees the work you’re putting in.

As someone who’s just beginning this journey in real estate, it’s easy to focus on the finish line.

But this week reminded me that the small steps matter too.

✨Every phone call.
✨Every lesson.
✨Every person I meet.
✨Every opportunity to learn.

They all add up.

✨I’m grateful to be building something that’s rooted in relationships, trust, and serving this community.

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this week?

I’d love to hear what’s ahead for you.❤️

There are places that simply look beautiful

👉And then there are places that make you pause.

The kind of place where you imagine slow mornings with a cup of coffee, kids running through the yard, evenings on the porch, and conversations that last a little longer than planned.

That’s what I love most about real estate.
✨It’s rarely just about the house.
✨It’s about the life you picture yourself living there.

This isn’t my listing, just a place that made me stop and appreciate everything our part of Missouri has to offer.

Every weekend, I want to share a place that reminds me why I’m proud to call this home.

What’s one place around here that always makes you slow down for a minute?
