This weekend, October 21-23 is the "Port A Wooden Boat Festival". Come and hang out and see all port A has to offer. There will be a Coastal Market, Kids activities, Wooden Boat Showcase, Tutorials on wooden boat building with Speakers and Demonstrations.

Here is the official website for the event: https://woodenboatfestival.org/

Fishing has always been a big part of Port A for one 120 year. After all, it's first official name was Tarpon, Texas. Farley Boat Works was established in 1915 and closed in 1973. It was re-opened in 2011 as a museum. The 20's, 30's, and 40's were their real heyday. Everyone came to Port A to go Tarpon fishing in a purpose-built Farley Boat. Famously, FDR came down for a fishing expedition in a Farley Boat.

If you bring the kids, make time for a Pirate Boat cruise too! https://www.reddragonpiratecruises.com/

Go to any (or all!) participating restaurants to get a Taco/Margarita sampler unique to the island. My recommendation would be La Playa, but Trout Street in the Marina won the best margarita in the Margarita Madness contest this year...

It's hard to name a better combination that tacos and margaritas, but here's one—tacos, margaritas, AND Port A! Go to any of the participating restaurants to get a taco/margarita sampler unique to the island.
