After having visited the island with his family since he was a little kid, Mark Grosse and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Port Aransas in 1971. Tarrant had been selling and developing property in Port Aransas since the 1930s and encouraged Mark to get a broker’s license. In 1973, upon Mr. Tarrant’s passing, Mark opened Mark Grosse Real Estate. Through all sorts of markets, Mark continued selling Port
Aransas for more than five decades, and, in many instances, sold the same property five or more times during his lengthy tenure as the most knowledgeable broker on the island. Mark lost his battle with cancer on April 1, 2024, and left his real estate team equipped to continue his legacy. Each month, we give a portion of our sales commissions to a local charity or need, and proudly award PAHS graduates with scholarships annually. We love this community and are proud to support our unique island home. We’re the best real estate team on the island, too! Our team has consistently, according to South Texas MLS data, and Coastal Bend MLS data before that, been at the top of the market in sales year after year. According to aforementioned data, in 2025, although our small team makes up a small fraction of the total number of agents in Port Aransas, we closed more total transactions AND more transactions per agent AND more listings AND higher list side sales volume AND higher total sales volume than any other island-wide real estate outfit in Port Aransas. AND, four of five of the top-producing agents in all of Port Aransas are Mark Grosse Real Estate agents!
