Pull up your current program and actually read it. Not the display — the schedule. How many days a week is each zone running, and for how long?

Most programs were set once under different conditions and never revisited. Plants matured, sod established, seasons changed, and the schedule stayed exactly the same.

If you can't explain why a zone runs the way it does, it's probably running wrong.

Saturday evening is a good time to notice what your property does after dark.

Most people never really look. The lights that are on have been on for years, the dark spots have been dark for just as long, and it all reads as normal because it's familiar.

In this part of Florida, the most comfortable hour of the day arrives after the sun goes down. And most yards are unusable exactly then.

Thirty-six years in one service area means the properties have history with us.

Systems we installed years ago are still running. Some have been expanded twice as landscaping matured. Some have changed hands and the new owners called the number on the controller.

Before: a zone with three heads that don't pop, one that sprays the fence, and a dry crescent that's been there for two seasons.

After: heads at grade, nozzles matched, arcs adjusted to the actual bed line, and the crescent filling back in.

Nothing was replaced that didn't need to be. That's usually the case.
