Information on debris pick up below! 👍

We are continuing to pick up both vegetative debris and construction and demolition (C&D) debris! To date we have collected over 1.68 million cubic yards of debris. A few more quick debris separation reminders:

➡️ It’s important to ensure you separate your debris into different piles by material.
➡️ Please make sure that your debris piles are placed clear of obstacles like mailboxes, fire hydrants, backflow preventers or water meter boxes.
➡️ Debris can NOT be bagged.

The debris collection dashboard at www.CharlotteCountyFL.gov/debris provides a real-time, street-by-street tally of both vegetative and construction and demolition debris.

Hip hip hooray, we have a Parks and Recreation update! 🌳
We have been able to open 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 Charlotte County Parks. Please keep in mind there remains vegetative debris in parks and waterways. Visitors should avoid these areas. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗽𝗮𝗱𝘀, 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲.

🚨 Food and water distribution sites this weekend in Charlotte County!

The operating hours for the Charlotte County Points of Distribution will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9.

Charlotte County has three food and water distribution centers opened:
• Muscle Car City Museum, 10175 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Charlotte Sports Park, 2300 El Jobean Rd., Port Charlotte, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Tringali, 3460 N Access Rd, Englewood, FL 34224, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Charlotte County Community Services Library and History Division has opened the Punta Gorda Charlotte Library, as well as care stations to provide public Wi-Fi and laptops for public use. All locations are open seven days a week until further notice.

Punta Gorda Charlotte Library, located at 401 Shreve St. Punta Gorda, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mobile Wi-Fi stations and laptops for public use are also available at:

Family Services Center, 21500 Gibralter Drive, Port Charlotte, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Make sure you have a disaster kit ready for Tropical Storm Ian and the rest of hurricane season. Stocking necessary supplies, like water, canned goods, medications, first aid supplies, pet food. Don't forget to include a hand-crank or battery powered radio in your kit so you can continue to receive emergency alerts or notifications if power is lost.
