Changes are coming to our industry starting in October. Please be prepared for longer closing times for the first few months. These changes have an effect on how the HUD will be completed and how banks have to disclose their loans to clients. All in all, banks and title companies will slow down the closing process to ensure they are compliant with these new changes. Banks and Title companies can get killed in violation fee’s if they don’t comply with these mandated changes. In order to avoid these violations, things will slow down as these files will basically all be audited to ensure disclosures are completed correctly. After Sept. 30th you can expect closings to be anywhere from approximately 30 to 60 days. As long as both sellers and buyers are on the same page it will be fine. 😃
