There are plenty of reasons people get attached to Punta Gorda.

Charlotte Harbor, downtown restaurants, boating, local events, and being able to spend more of the year outside all play a part.

For the people who moved here from somewhere colder, what do you miss the least? 😂

Apparently our version of a relaxing Florida weekend includes bikes, fishing, Key West, a little local flavor, and eventually somebody falling asleep on the boat. 😂

I’d say we know how to take it easy, but the evidence says otherwise.

Wouldn’t trade these weekends for anything though. Sunshine, water, family, and plenty of stories by the time we get home.

Selling a Florida home with solar?

Here’s the question I’d answer BEFORE the sign goes in the yard:

Do you actually own the panels?

Because “the house has solar” can mean a few very different things:
☀️ Paid off and owned
💳 Financed with a balance
📄 Leased from a solar company
⚡ Under a power purchase agreement

And if there’s a UCC-1 filing or other solar obligation attached, the title company is probably going to find it anyway.

Much better to know now than two weeks before closing. 😅

Solar itself usually isn’t the issue.

Undisclosed financing, transfer requirements, and missing paperwork are.

Rotonda West was built around golf, canals, and residential neighborhoods, not a walkable downtown.

So yes, you’ll probably drive to dinner.

But no, that doesn’t mean you’re driving 40 minutes every time you want somewhere good.

📍 Boca Grande, Florida

Boca Grande might be one of the easiest places in Southwest Florida to spend an entire day without much of an itinerary.

Bike around the island. Stop by the Gulf. Visit the historic lighthouse. Wander through town. Stay longer than planned.

And if fishing is your thing, Boca Grande Pass is known as the Tarpon Fishing Capital of the World, with generations of anglers coming here for tarpon season.

One thing to know before you go: Boca Grande’s updated parking rules are now in effect. Many non-residential spaces have a three-hour limit between 9 AM and 5 PM, so check the current parking map and signage before parking.
