I just found out the home I inspected earlier this week with the flooded crawl space was quoted $20,000 to trench and install multiple sump pumps.

That is 20,000 reasons to get a home inspection when buying your next house!

This was my first inspection today!

I was driving by this house for sale a few weeks ago, and I was thinking to myself, "If they just spent some money to get this place cleaned up they would get all of the money back AND be able to sell their house for more money!"

But instead it is being sold for 20k under asking, which works out for my client!

Bottom line: Curb appeal matters! Call professional exterior cleaning companies before listing your house!

Alternative meaning for a home on the water. I would say it got about shin deep at one point. Even the base of the ladder was rotten.

There is a drainage ditch between the uphill neighbor and this house. I'm thinking it's clogged. Regardless of the cause, I'm recommending a sump pump get installed to prevent future flooding events!

This backyard is about to get decked out!

Modified the original deck framing to make room for a hot tub and added the section to the left for future bar seating!

This is another home I inspected today!

Many inspectors would not go in there because our standards of practice say we can opt out if the opening is too small or difficult to access, but not me!

I need to know what's going on in the crawlspace or I feel the report is incomplete.

Today I found a large crack in the foundation of a 1940's home with a seriously sloping floor.

It is a great time to get a home inspection!
