Today is our 5 year anniversary at Pineapple Plantation, so this is the perfect time to share our plans for our biggest changes yet!

Here’s what we’re planning to do:
-fully screen in the main level deck and add outdoor ceiling fans
-install an upper level deck that fully covers the main level screened porch
-push out the wall of the existing foosball area and make it a 4th bedroom
-install a sliding door from this new 4th bedroom to the upper level deck
-replace all the upstairs carpet with a hard surface (hardwood, LVP, etc)

We are actually wrapping up the design phase now, and we’ve blocked out our calendar through the end of April to get all this done.

However, there’s still time for adjustments, and we would love your ideas for big and small touches so that we can incorporate as many of them as possible into the final design.

What else would you do if you had an unlimited budget? Feel free to go crazy with your ideas. For example, I considered modifying the elevator to go to the top level, and I also considered adding a large observation deck that would sit on top of the roof itself. While these didn’t make the cut, these are the type of “go large” suggestions that we would love to get from you all. We’d also love smaller ideas, such as deck lighting options and upper level flooring suggestions.

We are super excited to announce that your stay at Pineapple Plantation now includes Starlink Residential Max internet service!

This is Starlink’s fastest residential plan for both downloads and uploads. It’s also their highest network priority residential plan, providing the fastest speeds during the busiest hours.

While Starlink offers several residential options, we picked the top tier Residential Max plan as it’s best for large households, heavy internet users, frequent video conferencing, large downloads, gaming, and users who want the best possible performance.

While obviously a limited sample size, speed tests from yesterday and today have been extremely promising. Download speeds ranged from 110-387 Mbps and upload speeds were between 33-46 Mbps. To put that in perspective, our previous cable internet service often ranged between 25-75 Mbps download (typically on the lower end) and 5 Mbps (or less) upload.

Summer 2027: 4 of our 11 prime summer weeks have already booked. We enjoy getting to know our guests personally, and we would love to host your family next summer. We now have a shell lamp and a clam holder to greet you when you first enter the foyer. The lamp even has a cute little shell on top! While not as spectacular as some of our other additions, we hope they help you to more quickly get in to “beach mode”.

Did you know that you can adopt or sponsor a sea turtle nest on North Cape San Blas?🐢🐢🐢🐢

Our family has been vacationing in the area for over 20 years (first as guests, and then owners) and I just found this out within the past several months.

This year we are proud to announce that we are starting what will be an annual tradition of adopting a turtle nest on the Cape. Our adopted nest is in the newly renourished beach area by The Rocks, about a mile away from Pineapple Plantation.

We encourage your family to also consider adopting or sponsoring a turtle nest on North Cape. As an incentive, anyone who participates will be entered into a drawing for a discount off of a future reservation at Pineapple Plantation. The discount will be based on the number of participants:
$100 off for 1-5 nests
$200 off for 6-10 nests
$300 off for 11-20 nests

Here’s all you need to do:
1) make a donation by clicking on the attached link to the Florida Coastal Conservancy website. It’s just $25 to sponsor a shared nest, or $50 to completely adopt a nest.

We’re so excited that our first adopted nest is the brand new sand added as a result of the beach nourishment project.

As a quick update, the sand portion of this project is already completed, and my understanding is that almost all of the beach in this area is now reopened to the public. They are still working on the breakwater portion, which is expected to significantly reduce future erosion. Of the 8 breakwaters to be installed along this stretch of Cape San Blas, the first 2 are substantially complete and they are starting work on a third one. All construction work is expected to wrap up by the end of July. Please see the attached picture (courtesy of SJP project updates). Pineapple Plantation is about a mile away from the renourishment project, and our section of the beach and is not impacted by this work.
