Your taxes and your neighbor’s taxes can differ even though you both have identical homes and purchased the same year.

You will see in both examples they have the same Just Market Value of $256,000 and Homestead Exemption for $50,000.

However in the Neighbor 1 example you will see that they are eligible for a few additional tax savings benefits.

Neighbor 1 had a previous Homesteaded property in the state of Florida and was able to transfer some or all of their Save Our Homes benefit from their previous homestead to their newly established homestead.

Neighbor 1 was also eligible for an additional Senior Homestead Exemption because they were 65 or older as of January 1 of the current year and their Adjusted Household Income did not exceed $32,561.

You can see that the additional tax savings benefits that Neighbor #1 is eligible for lowered their Taxable Value.
