To help protect property owners from fraud, Michelle R. Miller, St. Lucie Clerk & Comptroller’s Office offers a free service to notify citizens if a document has been recorded in their name. The system is designed to protect property owners from scammers that record fraudulent deeds, mortgages, and other documents to make it appear as if they own the homes. Property Fraud Alert by TRISHIElD detects all documents being recorded and sends email and text notifications within 24 hours to registered users.

Here's some big news!

Amazon.com will be opening a 200,000-square-foot facility, its third in St. Lucie County, in Legacy Park at Tradition. It will join FedEx, Cheney Brothers and others in the City's Southern Grove Jobs Corridor, just off Becker Road and Interstate 95.

Amazon plans to hire 200 full-time workers to prepare customer orders for last-mile delivery within 45 miles of the facility.

Sansone Group is the project developer, and Threecore, LLC. has been selected as general contractor for the single-story, 44-foot-tall building. The project’s site plan was approved by City Council in May under the code name Project Senior.

Construction is projected to be complete by September.

St. Lucie County’s Public Safety Department, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie, will distribute more than 5,000 at-home COVID-19 testing kits at six branch libraries on Wednesday, Jan. 5, starting at 9 a.m. This will be a drive-thru distribution and the number of kits will be limited to six per vehicle, while supplies last.

Tests will be distributed via curbside at the various libraries, so residents do not need to leave their vehicle. Law enforcement will be at each library helping to direct traffic. St. Lucie County Branch Libraries are located at:
