This is excellent news for our landfills!

Well, here's some good news for Mother Earth! 🌍

St. Lucie County Solid Waste now accepts plastic coffee pods in its recycling programs! ♻️ This achievement was made possible in partnership with Keurig Dr Pepper.

Residents can recycle plastic coffee pods through a simple three-step process:

Peel ➡ Starting at the puncture, peel the lid off and discard.
Empty ➡ Compost or dispose of the coffee grounds (the filter can remain).
Recycle ➡ Place coffee pods in curbside recycling bins or drop them off at the St. Lucie County Baling and Recycling Facility.

New Tag System to Streamline Waste Pickup

Waste Pro, the City’s contracted waste collector, has introduced notice tags as part of its waste collection procedure. These tags will be tied to residents’ recycling bin, garbage can or yard waste pile to help explain why Waste Pro was not able to immediately provide service to these customers. For example, the highlighter yellow tags may advise that a pile was too big and that it will be scheduled for a clam truck pick-up on the date listed.

Join the U. S. Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce for their 3rd Annual Open House and Community Appreciation Day this Saturday, May 18th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM to help kick off boater safety week.

Tour the boats, touch the gear and see live demonstrations from our law enforcement agencies such as the K-9 Unit.
