Cedar is pleased to announce that our very own Jennifer Bitterman has been installed as Chief Financial Officer succeeding Phil Mays. Jennifer joined Cedar in October 2011 and has grown professionally during that time, assuming a series of roles with ever increasing responsibilities culminating in this exciting and well deserved promotion. Notably, with Jennifer as CFO, Cedar is unique in now having a female CFO, COO and general counsel, a fact of which we are proud.

As noted, Jennifer’s promotion came with the departure of Phil Mays, who left us after a terrific ten year run. Phil was a valued colleague, thought leader and culture carrier during his decade of service to Cedar and leaves us as an honored alum. Thank you Phil and good luck in your future endeavors.

Cedar is thrilled to announce that we have executed several exciting new leases over the last few weeks, adding 3 anchors and 4 restaurants to our portfolio.

ANCHORS: Hobby Lobby and Grocery Outlet will be our new anchors at Valley Plaza, in Hagerstown, MD, backfilling a former Kmart box. Porter and Chester Institute will be joining the lineup at the ShopRite-anchored New London Mall in New London, CT.

RESTAURANTS: Honeygrow and Popeye’s are the newest additions to our recently redeveloped Fishtown Crossing Shopping Center in Philadelphia, PA. The center is home to nearly 30 shops, with a diverse tenant mix that includes hair, beauty and health, clothing, professional services, dollar stores, and anchored by an IGA supermarket.

Aloha Krab is a full-service sit-down restaurant coming to our Super Foodtown-anchored Shops at Bloomfield Station in Bloomfield, NJ adding to the tenant roster that helps visitors, residents, and commuters manage their day-to-day lives with a broad assortment of retailers.

Voodoo Crab to Go is a great grab-and-go concept that will be coming to our Key Food-anchored Carman’s Plaza in Massapequa, NY. Carman’s Plaza is a vibrant 195,000 square foot shopping center serving the surrounding densely populated Long Island community. Carman’s is also where we recently relocated our new corporate office, so Team Cedar is especially excited about this new restaurant addition!

Cedar Realty is excited to announce our recent partnership with Muros and Lysol who on June 30th unveiled its newest mural “It's Up To You” vaccine awareness campaign for the Benning Community at our East River Park Shopping Center in Washington, DC. Aniekan Udofia, a D.C. muralist, partnered with Lysol to create the mural that depicts the moments of welcoming our loved ones back into our homes. Kudos to our very own Melanie Wallace Ramos who did a fantastic job planning and executing the campaign with Muros & Lysol.

Thursday, May 20th was a big day for Cedar Realty Trust, Inc. We celebrated the first phase of our Northeast Heights Redevelopment project in Washington, DC, with a groundbreaking ceremony hosted by DC’s Mayor Muriel Bowser. Mayor Bowser was joined by Ward 7 Councilmember Vincent C. Gray as well as other DC Administration officials, the Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, Asland Capital Partners, members of the community, and representatives from Team Cedar. The Northeast Heights redevelopment project is a perfect example of our corporate ethos to “do well while doing good” inasmuch as we will be helping the local community access attractive employment opportunities, fresh food, quality housing, and healthcare providers, all while generating attractive returns for our shareholders.

Cedar Realty is excited to announce that “GAME” will be coming to our Yorktowne Plaza redevelopment in Cockeysville, MD. GAME is a 10,500 square foot Sports Bar and Game Room with a festival-like atmosphere. GAME is a Baltimore favorite known for its music, food, sports, and old-school games like ping pong, pool, air hockey, and much more.

Our Food Lion anchored Yorktowne Plaza shopping center is a resource to the vibrant Baltimore-area neighborhood it serves, and the redevelopment, scheduled to commence later this year, will help broaden its appeal and usefulness to the local community.

First Watch is one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the US and joins a recently opened Chipotle as well as a terrific assortment of retail and dining options that this grocery-anchored center offers the Sewell Township community.

We welcome Grocery Outlet to Cedar Realty’s Swede Square shopping center in East Norriton, PA as it becomes the newest supermarket to enter the Philadelphia market. Cedar is excited to help Grocery Outlet continue to expand in the Mid-Atlantic and is pleased that the East Norriton community has this first-class grocer as a resource.
