Today’s the day we head home from a beautiful week. Witnessing my son and his beautiful wife get married. We received a few sneak peek pictures. I can’t even put into words how beautiful and perfect everything was. It was the most beautiful venue, very glamorous, fine dining dinner that was served synchronized, we all received our meals at the same time! I danced all night and had the time of my life. My son was so very handsome and his tux was gorgeous. My daughter in law, love saying that, was absolutely the most beautiful bride I have ever seen. The whole day was fabulous and they wouldn’t have done anything different. Everyone is still talking about it today. I’m a little blue today as the time goes a little too fast but we have so much to look forward to and can’t wait for grandkids 😉 And here is the new Mr. And Mrs. Zachary and Toni Milano ❤️❤️

And then one day, she said “F**K IT” and started living her BEST life.

These past 60 trips around the sun have been a beautifully curated journey, bringing me to this exact moment right here, right now. Some of those experiences were really tough, while others were so incredibly beautiful that they took my breath away. There were moments when I thought life had defeated me, only to realize “life squeezes but doesn’t suffocate”

As I sit here and reflect on these last 6 decades, I’ve learned that instead of hardening from life’s lessons, I’ve softened and I welcome that softness. I dance to the music of my heart, sharing every beautiful experience with so many incredible friends and most importantly my family.

People say to me “Wow you don’t look like you’re 60”. I’m not sure what 60 looks like, but I’m glad I made it! I’ve learned to walk toward my joy, stare my fears in the eyes, and embrace them, as if to say, “I’ve got this”. As I sit here and reflect on my 60 years, my ups and downs have made me who I am today, and I am blessed with everything my life has given me. Here’s to hopefully another 40! Happy Birthday to me and I plan on doing some celebrating all day today 🥂❤️

Oh my sweet little sunshine is 3 today!!! She brings us sooooo much joy. Sometimes I just can’t get enough of her. She is the perfect fit in our family. She’s definitely the best little girl dog ever. She’s so much fun, my accountability partner for walking and then always cuddling on my lap with kisses all day everyday. She’s super smart and we just love her to pieces!!! Happy Birthday Francesca, we love you so much ❤️❤️

I love this… long read, but I had no idea.

It was the dogs. The dogs are what got me.

A few years ago we visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum, and we saw a lot. Twisted steel girders. Baby-faced portraits of the deceased. Mutilated emergency vehicles.

But it was the dogs that wrecked me.

The dog exhibit is pretty small. Located in the far corner of the museum, with photographs of search and rescue dogs.

You see dogs nosing through rubble, wearing safety harnesses. You see them in their prime. They’re all deceased now. But they were spectacular.

There was Riley. Golden retriever. He was trained to find living people. But, he didn’t find any. Instead, he recovered the remains of firefighters. Riley kept searching for a live survivor, but found none. Riley’s morale tanked.

“I tried my best to tell Riley he was doing his job,” said his handler. “He had no way to know that when firefighters and police officers came over to hug him, and for a split second you can see them crack a smile—that Riley was succeeding at doing an altogether different job. He provided comfort. Or maybe he did know.”

There was Coby and Guiness. Black and yellow Labs. From California. Surfer dogs. They found dozens of human remains.

And Abigail. Golden Lab. Happy. Energetic. Committed. Big fan of bacon.

Sage. A border collie. Cheerful. Endless energy. Her first mission was searching the Pentagon wreckage after the attacks. She recovered the body of the terrorist who piloted American Airlines Flight 77.

Jenner. Black Lab. At age 9, he was one of the oldest dogs on the scene. Jenner’s handler, Ann Wichmann, remembers:

“It was 12 to 15 stories high of rubble and twisted steel. My first thought was, ‘I can't send Jenner into that…’ At one point, [Jenner] disappeared down a hole under the rubble and I was like, ‘Ugggggh!' Such a heart-stopping moment..."

Trakr. German Shepherd. Tireless worker. Worked until he couldn’t stand up anymore. Trakr found Genelle Guzman-McMillan, who was trapped for 27 hours among the debris. Genelle was as good as dead, until the cold nose poked through the mangled steel.

Apollo. German shepherd. An NYPD police dog. Coal-black muzzle. Liquid eyes. The first dog on the scene, only 15 minutes after the attacks. Apollo worked 18-hour days. Once, he was nearly killed in a fire during his search. But Apollo had been drenched in water and he was quick on his feet. No injuries.

Jake. Labrador. As a puppy, Jake was found on the side of the road in Dallas. Abandoned. Left for dead. Like trash. He had a dislocated hip and a broken leg. They made him a rescue dog.

Jake worked until his body threatened to collapse from exhaustion. After his shifts, local New York merchants saw his rescue-dog vest and treated him to free steak dinners in upscale Manhattan restaurants.

And, of course, there was Bretagne. Golden Retriever. Easygoing. Dutiful. Obsessed with food. Her owner and trainer, Denise Corliss, a firefighter from Harris County, Texas, brought Bretagne to Ground Zero while the rubble was still hot.

Bretagne went straight to work. She worked for 10 days solid. Ten agonizing days. Bretagne never quit. She napped onsite.

Denise recalls: “...There are images of Bretagne going to where she was directed to search, into the unknown, the chaotic environment. But even then, she knew who needed the comfort of a dog, and which firefighter needed to hold her close and stroke her fur.”

After 9/11, Bretagne also helped recovery efforts during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and Ivan. She retired at age 9.

Old age finally overtook her, she had a hard time using stairs, so Denise installed an above-ground pool to keep Bretagne’s joints limber.

In retirement, Bretagne became a reading dog at a local elementary school. First graders, too shy to read aloud, would read to a white-faced, elderly retriever who looked them in the eyes and smiled.

Bretagne visited students with special needs. She visited students with autism. She visited everyone.

She suffered kidney failure at age 16. She was put to sleep on June 7, 2016, and became the last of the 9/11 rescue dogs to end her earthly career.

Bretagne hobbled into the Cypress, Texas, animal hospital, one sunny Monday, only to discover the sidewalks and hallways were lined with firefighters, first responders, and rescue workers who saluted her.

Her remains were later escorted from the hospital, draped in an American flag.

So very true! I tried for 22 years 😢

Just to clear things up... A lot of times when a woman leaves a long term relationship the man’s very first thoughts are “she found someone else"or “how could she do this 😡“ all these years together“ and so much more, BUT what men don’t think about is all the times she went to sleep feeling like crap because of all the times that he disrespected her or how he kept saying he would change but never did...Men don’t think about all the times she was there when no one else was. How she prayed to God to help him change. Men don’t think about how she always put everyone and everything before herself. Men don’t think about how all her friends and family told her to walk away but she still stayed. No...all men can think is “how could she do this” ...women don’t just wake up one day and decide to leave. A mans actions, his words, the way he makes her feel builds up over time and eventually all his crap becomes this weight that she just can’t carry anymore. When she stops venting to you, when she stops getting on you, when she stops trying to get you to see things her way just know it’s not because you won and finally she’ll put up with everything, it’s because she’s preparing her escape from your toxic ways. So no she didn’t leave you to find someone else . She left so she can find HERSELF. 👌

Appreciate your woman while you have her fellas... Because she will get the courage to walk away one day.

Ladies...know and realize your worth, love yourself!! ❤️

Copy and paste if you agree I just did.

“67” years ago today my parents stood in front of their priest and exchanged their vows. They aren’t perfect, but they are perfect together! Anyone that knows my parents always tell me how cute they are, they bicker, but they take care of each other. They built a beautiful family together and have the most fabulous friends, some still back from high school! They took the vows
For better and for worse, and they have been through both. Dad’s health has declined over the last couple years and my Mom does her best to care for him. Watching my parents when we are out or around them and they are still taking care of each other in good and bad and when they still hold each other’s hands, shows the love they have for each other and they never broke that bond. I can’t believe it’s been 67 years Mom and Dad. Happy Anniversary to the best parents ever!!! I can’t wait to celebrate your love this weekend ….. I love you both ❤️

What a weekend so far. Last night Summa had their Acts of excellence and employee service recognition and I was recognized for my 5 years of service. It was held at the John S. Knight center and they put on a fabulous event for all of us. Cocktail hour, live band that was awesome and a great dinner. I had so much fun with all my managers and hubby got to join as well. Today was a busy day showing homes and I’m exhausted. My love took me to a nice dinner to wind down from my day, as I’ll be back at showing homes tomorrow. Can’t wait to submit some offers! ❤️🏡

Wow. What a weekend! Started off that we got to meet my dog Francesca’s sister who now lives in Las Vegas. They played with each other and had so much fun. Sunday we celebrated Tony’s 60th bday at Leo’s with 15 of our good friends and family. Unfortunately Mom and Dad didn’t make it as Dad had a trip to ER 😢 but is home now and feeling better. After dinner we went to Big Shots to golf and Tony did a shot with my son Zach. Today we went to my Mom and Dads since they couldn’t join us and we cooked out and Tony opened up all his gifts and cards and needless to say was spoiled by everyone. It was a great weekend ❤️
