This photo of my dad at Sunrise Subdivision captures him exactly where he loved to be — on a job site, building something new.
Over the past couple of months, many people have reached out asking what the future looks like for our commercial properties, residential properties, and Sunrise Subdivision following my dad Rick Lynn’s passing.
First, thank you. The condolences, stories, and memories people have shared about my dad have meant a great deal to our family. He was a complicated, driven, passionate man who spent decades building properties and opportunities in this community. Hearing how he impacted others has been incredibly meaningful, and we are grateful for the foundation he built.
As we move forward, our goal is simple: continue the work.
Our properties will remain active and managed with a renewed focus on maintenance, improvements, and long-term stability. Over the coming months you will begin seeing upgrades across several properties in Portage and the surrounding area. At Northridge Plaza, we are already planning exterior improvements including new lighting, exterior painting, seal coating and striping of the parking lot, bike racks, planters, and other general updates to improve the overall experience for tenants and visitors.
At Sunrise Subdivision in Pardeeville, we are preparing for the upcoming spring home-buying season with a refreshed marketing effort, improved landscaping and curb appeal, and a renewed focus on highlighting the quality and long-term vision of the community. We’re excited about the potential there and look forward to continuing development momentum.
As we evaluate the broader portfolio, we will also be making thoughtful decisions about certain properties. This may include selling select assets over time to strengthen and refine the overall portfolio while continuing to invest in the properties that remain.
In addition, we currently have an online auction running that includes more than 800 lots of restaurant and food service equipment that my dad accumulated over the years. The auction closes next week, and details can be found in the comment section below.
We also have a number of improvement projects beginning this year and are actively looking to build relationships with local subcontractors and trades — painters, carpenters, landscapers, and other professionals — who may be interested in working with us.
While my sister and I may not call Portage home, our dad loved this community deeply. We intend to spend a lot of time here continuing the work he started and making sure these properties are maintained and improved in a way that benefits tenants and the community alike.
Thank you again for the support, the kindness, and the continued interest. If you have questions or would like to connect regarding projects or partnerships, feel free to reach out.
