Real story.
The security system was included in the purchase agreement and at the time of walkthrough, the system had been removed.
Sellers did in fact have to pay to install security system and they even prepaid for 6 months of service to the buyers.

Wow!
Who knew little me with such a small following in my business page would have such solid engagement on two little posts.

I posted from my business page because I feel very strongly about it but also because it lines up with what I stand for in regards to homeownership.

Taxes and homeownership go hand in hand.

But dang, so glad I grew up being bullied because there are some incredibly mean people out there in the world and keyboard warriors have nothing on me versus getting rocks thrown at you as a kid šŸ¤Ŗ

I havenā€™t gotten around to doing that since I replaced my thermostat. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜…

A few months ago after selling my friendā€™s house, I realized how awesome it was that she was able to adjust the temperature without even being at home!

However fast forward to last night.
I come home and itā€™s 74Ā° inside but my thermostat is set to 70Ā°!
I immediately spiral and think, ā€œoh no my AC has finally died and now Iā€™m gonna have to replace my whole HVAC unit!ā€

My husband came home.
He googled a few troubleshooting options.

You know what finally fixed it?
This thing needed new batteries!
What?!

I mean Iā€™m so grateful the fix was so easy and cheap but goodness, you would think that the app would tell me to replace my batteries!

So this is my PSA. If you come home and your AC isnā€™t working, try a few things at home before spending hundreds-thousands on calling a professional.

ā€¢restart the breaker
ā€¢replace your thermostat batteries

Kalamazoo County is getting over $10million dollars in the first year!

Shocking. šŸ˜’šŸ™„

Only 37% of voters showed up.

Meaning approximately 21% of the registered voters decided to raise our property taxes.

That means that 63% of voters decided to not have their voice heard.
Only 37% of voters cared enough to show up.

When you think your vote doesnā€™t matter.
Look at the millage for Lawton.
11 voters showed up.
It literally passed by ONE vote.

Edit: apparently I took the screenshot in regards to Lawton based on Kalamazoo county voters, completely ignoring that I shouldā€™ve looked at Van Buren
Iā€™m adding the screen shot of Van Buren county voters.
The math still sucks though.
Only 30% of voters in Van Buren showed up.

Hot take for the day.

Today we vote on raising property taxes.

Tomorrow the county auctions off the homes of people who couldn't pay the current taxes.

Tomorrow's auction list is full of seniors on fixed incomes and families who hit hard times. Every yes vote today raises the bar for staying housed tomorrow.

If a tax increase is worth passing, it's worth passing in front of the whole community in November.
