🐾 We had a pawsitively good time at Yappy Hour! 🐶

Last week, residents and their four-legged friends got together for an evening of good company, wagging tails, and plenty of time to catch up with neighbors.

Big things are happening for students in New Caney ISD!

A recent Community Impact article takes a closer look at the growth of the district’s Career and Technical Education programs, where students are gaining hands-on experience and earning industry certifications that can help prepare them for college, careers, and beyond.

In fact, 86% of NCISD high school students participated in CTE courses during the 2024-25 school year, compared with 74% statewide. Future investments include even more improvements to CTE programs at Porter High School.

We love seeing new opportunities open up for students in the district and are excited to watch these programs continue to grow.

Career and technical education programs at New Caney ISD have grown and become more popular in recent years—with participation among NCISD’s ninth-twelfth graders outranking the state average since at least 2021, Texas Education Agency data shows.

A morning of community updates, good conversation, and some seriously good chicken and waffles!

We enjoyed hosting our Realtor Board at The Highlands Visitor Center for our September meeting, where we caught up on what’s happening around the community and took a tour of the new Serenity Pool at Discovery Cove.

A special thank you to the Porter High School Culinary Department for catering breakfast with chicken and waffles and coffee cake, all prepared by students!

Created exclusively for residents of Fairway Pines, our 55+ enclave at The Highlands, The Hideaway is a place to move, gather, and spend time with neighbors.

Start the morning with a workout in the fitness center or a class in the movement studio, then stick around to catch up with friends in the gathering spaces. With a catering kitchen for events and plenty of room to connect, it’s a clubhouse designed around the way Fairway Pines residents live.

We had a great time welcoming our realtor friends to tour the brand-new Caldwell Homes and David Weekley Homes models in Fairway Pines, our exclusive 55+ enclave at The Highlands.

It was a fun opportunity to step inside the newest homes, explore Fairway Pines, and share more about the lifestyle and community that make Life Shine Brighter here.

📚💛 Tour Guide Tess traded tours for story time!

Our very own Tess recently spent some time reading with the second graders at Highlands Elementary, sharing plenty of smiles and a few good stories along the way.

We’re so grateful for our partnership with Highlands Elementary School and New Caney ISD and for opportunities like this that let us stay connected with the students, teachers, and families who are such an important part of our community.

🏗️ Progress continues at Discovery Cove!

The Fitness Center is taking shape, and we’re excited to start going vertical soon. Once complete, this new addition to Discovery Cove will give residents even more ways to move, recharge, and make wellness part of their everyday routine.

It’s another way our LiveWELL program comes to life, creating spaces and experiences that encourage movement, wellness, and a better quality of life right here at home.
