Vote YES on Measure 26-263
As a realtor who lives in Dunthorpe and sells homes in the neighborhood, I spend a lot of time talking about income taxes, property taxes, and what keeps Dunthorpe home prices up in comparison to other Multnomah County neighborhoods.
My first answer is always âRiverdale Schools.â
We have our own small school district with a K-8 Grade School and High School just up the road. Class sizes are small and the Riverdale education is excellent - itâs recently been rated the #1 Best Public K-8 School in Oregon, the #1 Best Public Elementary AND Middle School in Multnomah County.
But hereâs the reality check on how we stay that way: about 20% of our school funding comes from local taxes and donations to our school foundation. Â
This year our local option tax that supports our exceptional schools is on the ballot. If you live in the Riverdale School District, vote YES on Measure 26-263. Itâs an easy yes if you have kids at RSD, but should also be an easy yes if youâre a homeowner - our top ranked schools directly support your property values. Great schools make for a great neighborhood and protected property valuesâitâs that simple.
Exceptional schools act as the heartbeat of our community. They donât just educate the next generation; they keep our community vibrant and our property values strong. Itâs a win-win for all of us. Letâs keep showing up for our kids.
