Happy Portland Pride Weekend! 🌈

Did you know San Francisco is only about a 9-hour drive away? (Well, depending on the mood of the I-5).

It’ll always be my home city, and it’s where I came out over 30 years ago... but who’s counting? ❤️

San Francisco celebrates Pride on the last weekend of June in honor of the NYC Stonewall riots, the event that sparked the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, which gives some of us the opportunity to keep celebrating with Portland enjoying Pride weekend in July.

One of the things I love most about living in Portland is how much adventure is within reach.

A few hours from home can take you to The Gorge, where world-class music meets one of the most spectacular landscapes in the country. Bonnie Raitt, Indigo Girls and more at Brandi Carlile’s Echoes Through the Canyon. Good friends, towering cliffs, open skies, and thousands of people sharing an unforgettable experience. The weekend was a vibe, for sure.

It’s easy to take for granted how much we have access to here in the Pacific Northwest. Mountains, rivers, forests, the coast, wineries, concerts, and countless weekend escapes…all close enough to enjoy without ever boarding a plane.

Not a bad place to call home.
