Not every success story starts with an easy transaction.

When the Joyner family came to us with a challenging non-conforming commercial property, getting to closing wasn't quick or straightforward. It took time and persistence, but we got there, and they were pleased with the outcome.

Then came a completely different mission: finding their vacation property. 🏡

That meant weekends on the road, hours of driving to showings, and making sure offers were handled when opportunities came up, even on a Sunday.

And after going through both experiences together, they left us a comment that meant so much:

There’s something about walking into a local bookstore with no particular book in mind and leaving with three. 😂📚

This month, we’re giving a little love to The Book Nook in downtown Canby!

The Book Nook is an independent bookstore filled with new, used, and vintage books, along with games, gifts, and plenty for readers of all ages. They also host book clubs, author events, and other gatherings that make the shop feel like more than somewhere to simply buy your next read.

Donna has a beautiful new listing in Sherwood’s Woodhaven neighborhood at 17499 SW Kinglet Dr. With five bedrooms, a downstairs office/den, a fully fenced yard, and extensive updates already completed—from the kitchen and bathrooms to a brand-new AC in 2026—this one is ready for its next chapter.

Meanwhile, Liz’s listing at 17288 NW Blacktail Dr in the Bethany area didn’t spend much time waiting around. It went pending and sold quickly! 🎉

Who are you hoping gets dunked? 👀💦

Canby’s Big Night Out is happening THIS FRIDAY, August 28 from 5–10 PM in Downtown Canby, and the Ellison Team will be there with our dunk tank benefiting FIDO! 🐾❤️

We’ve recruited some very good sports from around the community who are willing to take the plunge for a great cause, including folks from Canby Police and Fire. 🚒🚓

Come find us, take your best shot at the dunk tank, and stick around for an evening of live music, local food and drinks, kids' activities, and plenty happening throughout downtown.

📊 July's market numbers are in, but here's the number we're watching: 3.8.

That's how many months of inventory were available across RMLS-tracked areas in July, up from 3.5 in June.

We're also seeing more active listings than last month, while pending and closed sales both slowed. At the same time, prices haven't made a dramatic move. The median sale price came in at $513,000, just 0.7% below June and 0.2% above July of last year.

🏡 For buyers, a growing selection of homes can mean more opportunities to find the right fit.

🔑 For sellers, more competition makes a strong strategy from day one increasingly important.

The numbers give us the big picture, but your neighborhood, price point, and goals tell the part of the story that actually matters to you.
