Experience and timing. Two things that matter a whole lot in INDYCAR… and, as it turns out, real estate.

Knowing when to push. When to wait. When to take an opportunity when it presents itself.

Because whether you’re chasing tenths of a second or the right home, knowing the course only gets you so far. Experience is what helps you navigate it.

At least, that’s what Marcus Armstrong tells us. 🏁🏠

Today is a bittersweet day for the PDX RE Team as we say goodbye to someone who has been here almost from the very beginning.

I’ve known Mariah since 1998, and when she reached out to me in 2020, I immediately knew she was the right person to help me take the next step in my business.

She joined me in January 2021, and for a long time, it was basically the two of us figuring out how to build this team together. We’ve been through the highs, the lows, the crazy real estate markets, plenty of laughs, and a whole lot of learning along the way.

Over the last couple of years, that little team has grown with Chris and, most recently, Theresa—but Mariah will always be a huge part of the foundation we built.

Mariah, thank you for your loyalty, friendship, hard work, patience, and for believing in what we were trying to create. I’m going to miss having you by my side, but I’m also incredibly happy for you as you start this next chapter.

You may be leaving the PDX RE Team, but you’ll always be part of our story.

Thank you for everything, Mariah. ❤️

What’s your comfort number?

Getting pre-approved for $700K doesn’t automatically mean you should be shopping for a $700K home.

There’s the number you can qualify for… and then there’s the number that lets you still live your life after the mortgage payment hits.

Travel. Dinner out. Kids. Hobbies. Savings. Whatever matters to you.

That’s the number I care about.

Before we start looking at homes, I want to know what monthly payment actually feels comfortable for YOU!! - not just the maximum a lender says you can borrow.

Not sure what your comfort number is yet? Reach out. Let’s figure it out before we start looking at houses.

Before the White House, there was Newberg.

Herbert Hoover spent part of his childhood right here in Newberg, Oregon, living in the Hoover-Minthorn House with his aunt and uncle. It’s one of those pieces of local history you could easily drive past without realizing just how far its story reaches.

And that’s part of what makes Newberg interesting. Wine country, a growing downtown, George Fox University, beautiful neighborhoods and little pieces of history tucked in between it all.

Want to see what life in Newberg actually looks like?

How do you define success in your business?

In racing, it’s pretty easy. At least according to .

The stopwatch doesn’t lie. 🏁

In real estate, I find success a little harder to measure.

It’s not just homes sold, sales volume, or numbers on a spreadsheet. It’s the people who trusted you with one of the biggest decisions of their lives, the relationships you build along the way, and whether they’d trust you to do it all over again.

Different business. Different scoreboard.

What does success look like to you?

Are you keeping track of everything being built in and around Gresham? 👀

There are currently around 250 homes on the market, but that’s only part of the story.

New housing and communities continue to take shape throughout the area, including developments around Pleasant Valley, Hogan Butte and East Gresham, bringing more homes and more options for people looking east of Portland.

Gresham is growing, and if you haven’t looked at the area in a while, you might be surprised by how much is changing.

House hunting is the fun part.

But a little homework BEFORE you start touring can save you a lot of time, stress and “wait… can we actually afford this?” conversations later.

Know your budget. Know your priorities. Know your dealbreakers. Then let’s go find the right one.

Before Dundee was wine country, it was cherries, plums and sheep.

But up in the Dundee Hills, David Lett had another idea.

In the 1960s, he planted Pinot Noir in a place where few believed it could thrive. That gamble helped put Oregon wine on the map and played a huge role in turning Dundee into the destination we know today. 🍷

Sometimes, an entire town’s story changes with one good idea.
