In the news...

This will change how buyer's agent compensation is communicated (no longer showing a BAC on the MLS listings); however, buyers' agents can still be compensated by sellers through consultation and negotiation, OR by the buyer directly to their agent.

Buyer's agent representation agreements with their buyer clients will also be required. (This has ALWAYS a smart practice, but now required.)

The rule that has been the subject of litigation requires only that listing brokers communicate an offer of compensation. Other rules throughout the MLS Handbook and NAR policy expressly prohibit setting or suggesting any such amount.
