Portland Housing update, May 4, 2026. The federal mortgage interest rates have slightly risen to 6.3% for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage. 249 new listings went on to the market. This is less new homes than last year for the same week. 40% of homes listed the previous week went pending within the 1st week. The homes listed between $750k & $1M had nearly 58% go pending within the first week, still our hottest sale price market. 36 new homes went onto the market list at or below $350k.

Our Oregon primary election is on May 19. It includes a measure about how are property taxes will be spent. It asks if we should keep the current rate and allocation for funding to the Oregon Historical Society Library, Museum, educational programs. Don’t forget to vote.

Monday, April 27, 2026 Portland real estate market update. The federal mortgage interest rates are down to 6.23% and 243 new listings went on to the market in the Portland metro area. Of those new listings 29 are listed below $350k. In our hottest markets, homes listed between $500k & $1M 108 new homes went on to the market. Nearly half of those homes are still going pending within the first week.

Monday, April 20, 2026 housing market update. Federal interest rates for a 30 year fixed mortgage is down to 6.3% . The number of new homes that went onto the market last week in Portland is 239. Nearly 1/3 of new homes from the previous week went pending within the first week of being listed. The average time homes are spending on the market was 79 days as reported at the end of March.

The average sales price is down compared to last year, from $603k-$594k.
