Big stuff! As you likely have heard, the real estate industry is going through some really big changes. Well, those changes are finally taking shape, and will be in effect soon — officially on August 17, 2024.
🏠 What does this mean for you as a SELLER?
• You still have the choice of offering compensation to buyer brokers. You may consider doing this as a way of marketing your home or making your listing more attractive to buyers.
• If you choose to approve an offer of compensation, there are changes to how this can happen.
• While you as the seller can still make an offer of compensation, your agent cannot include it on a Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
🏠 What does this mean for you as a BUYER?
• You must now enter into a written Buyer-Broker Agreement before you tour any available properties.
• It’s up to you as a Buyer to set your own agents’ pay.
