Saying goodbye to a home that gave us so much ❤️

This was our home for many years before Terra Linda—and it’s where so many great memories were made. Summer days in the garden, backyard BBQs, epic ping pong battles in the garage, and movie nights in the basement. All shared with neighbors who became lifelong friends.

We truly loved this home, and we hope the next owners feel that same warmth the moment they walk in.

One of the cooler moments I’ve seen in a renovation.

Friends of mine bought a condo last year and are updating it so it’s beautiful, functional, and ideal to age in place. During demo, the crew suggested leaving a time capsule in the walls before everything gets closed up.

They worked with the Oregon Historical Society to gather facts and history about the property dating back to 1895, and tucked those pieces inside along with some great Portland memorabilia that really reflects the city as we know it today.

Someday someone will open that wall and discover a little piece of Portland and this home’s story.

A lot better than finding old beer cans and rusty tools in the walls. 🏡

👻 The Haunted House on Skyline Drive👻
Many years ago, I helped a friend buy a beautiful hillside home overlooking Portland. It was built by an older gentleman—part of a family of well-known builders who had even helped construct one of Portland’s most famous (and most haunted) hotels.
He often spent time there, working and socializing in the hotel bar… and, as it turns out, he didn’t always come home alone. Some of the souls from that historic hotel followed him home—and stayed.
For decades, his family unknowingly shared their house with these lost spirits. When the home changed hands, the new owners began noticing uneasy feelings, strange noises, and eerie happenings. Eventually, their son identified one of the spirits by name—that’s when they called in professionals to help release the energy that lingered.
Today, the home on Skyline is peaceful again. 🌙
