Days 2 & 3 – Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦⚽

We squeezed every last minute out of our Vancouver adventure!

We spent the day exploring Robson Street, browsing the FIFA Pop-Up Store, grabbing treats at the Hello Kitty Café, and visiting the beautiful University of British Columbia.

Then it was time for Steve’s big birthday surprise—a ticket to a FIFA World Cup match! ⚽🎉 While he was cheering from the stands, the rest of us enjoyed a pizza and game night, with a quick stop at a local record store.

Before heading home, we fit in one last breakfast, a little more shopping, and soaked up the last of Vancouver’s charm.

Our first trip to Canada was one for the books. We came for the World Cup hype, but left loving the city just as much. Until next time, Vancouver! ❤️🇨🇦 🇨🇦 ⚽️ 🍁

Day 1 – Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦⚽

We had to see what all the hype was about after Vancouver was ranked the best fan city for the World Cup—and it definitely lived up to it! This was our first time in Canada, and it did not disappoint.

We packed a ton into our two full days, ate way more than we planned (worth it 😅), soaked up all the soccer excitement, and had an absolute blast.

Our first night was dedicated to trying all the Canadian snacks we either can’t find—or had never tried—in the U.S. Then we spent our first full day exploring Gastown, hopping on the False Creek water ferries, wandering through Granville Island, checking out the FIFA watch parties, and shopping at local boutiques.

Vancouver is an easy city to fall in love with. ❤️🇨🇦 ⚽️

How are we already here?! ❤️

Today my baby officially graduated 8th grade and is headed to high school. Watching him grow into the person he’s becoming has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Middle school wasn’t always easy, but he worked hard, grew so much, and made it to this milestone. I’m so proud of the young man he is becoming and excited to see what high school brings.

High school, here he comes! 🎓

What a beautiful day celebrating Lillian! ❤️

Last week, we gathered to honor her incredible accomplishments: graduating with National Honors and Corbett Honors, completing Middle College, and earning scholarships from some truly amazing schools.

This fall, Lil will be attending the teaching program through Oregon State University with the goal of becoming a high school English teacher. Anyone who knows her knows she has the intelligence, determination, creativity, and heart to make a lasting impact on her future students.

We celebrated at the beautiful The Hummingbird Hall, and we are so grateful for their hospitality. It was the perfect place to mark such a special milestone. If you have an upcoming event I highly recommend checking them out.

I didn’t take many pictures because I was busy soaking in the day. Watching Lillian reconnect with friends from babyhood and preschool, seeing one of her favorite grade school teachers, and being surrounded by so many people who have supported and encouraged her throughout her journey was truly priceless.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate, share memories, and help make the day so special. We are incredibly grateful.

We are so proud of you, Lil. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see where it takes you. ❤️🎓✨

Death Valley National Park

This one surprised the heck out of me. It’s the hottest place in the world—yesterday hit 101° by noon, and the highest temperature ever recorded here was a wild 134°!

Seeing Badwater Basin was unreal. It’s the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level, and thanks to rare rainfall, we got to see it covered in water instead of the usual salt flats. Honestly, I’d put that right up there with Old Faithful—just amazing.

We also checked out Devil’s Golf Course, Artist’s Palette & drive, and Zabriskie Point—each one totally unique in its own way.

Death Valley definitely exceeded expectations.

*Lil & Milo wanted nothing to do with our road trip so they flew back home. Their loss. 😉

We chose Puerto Vallarta to celebrate some truly pivotal birthdays, and honestly—it was a no brainer. My family has been traveling there for over 40 years, and it’s become our home away from home. The same sense of safety and comfort I feel in my own home, I feel there… with a little extra therapeutic healing sprinkled in. 🌊✨
