You wanna know what happened?

I started working harder.

Not because I suddenly became more motivated, but because I stopped wasting so much damn energy wondering what everyone else thought of me.

This morning is a perfect example. Zach and I were up until almost midnight helping one of our son’s best friends through something hard, so I completely slept through my 4:45 alarm. I woke up an hour and 45 minutes late and could’ve easily said, “welp, tomorrow.”

Instead, I showed up exactly as I was.

I got on the bike, opened my book, moved my body and worked on my mind at the same time. Was it the workout I planned? Nope. Did it still move the needle? Absolutely.

And I think that’s what has changed most for me lately. I’m not interested in performing my life anymore. I’m interested in building it.

Come as you are. Start where you are. Use what you have.

Nobody is thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are anyway.
