The day I received my first commission check, I had $26 in my bank account. It was the 29th of the month, and rent was due in a couple of days.
As a realtor, I don’t get paid until we all leave the closing table. There’s no salary or retainer—only commission. It’s a unique industry where all the work is done upfront, and I don’t see a paycheck for months (sometimes years!) after I start working with a client.
That’s why referrals mean everything in this business. My very first closing came from a client referred to me by a long-time friend, and I’m forever grateful for that. Referrals are the foundation of my career, and they’re the ultimate compliment—proof that my clients trust me enough to recommend me to their friends and family.
To all my clients—past, present, and future—and to everyone who has ever sent someone my way: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You make it all possible. ❤️
If you or someone you know is thinking about buying or selling, I’d love to help!
