Did you know Hayden wasn’t always the growing community we know today? It was once known simply as “Hayden Village.”
The history here goes back generations, and the area was shaped by ranching, farming, lumber, and, of course, the natural beauty surrounding Hayden Lake.
One of my favorite pieces of local history is that by the early 1900s, families were traveling from as far away as Spokane to enjoy Hayden Lake. They would come to spend time outdoors and escape to this little corner of North Idaho—something people still love doing more than 100 years later!
Hayden Village officially incorporated as the City of Hayden on June 27, 1955, and the community has certainly grown since then.
But some things haven’t changed. You can still spend a summer afternoon at Honeysuckle Beach, support local businesses, head out toward the lake, or find an outdoor adventure just minutes away.
I love learning the stories behind the communities I get to work in. It gives you a whole different appreciation for the places we call home. ❤️
