In a town with as much history as Mullan, even the local park has a story.

Terrill Park—officially Mullan City Park—sits along Terrill Loop and Terrill Gulch, carrying a name tied to the community’s mining-era roots.

What was once a simple green space has been given new life thanks in large part to the generosity of Jim and Doreen Terrill. Today, it’s a spot for community events, seasonal traditions like Christmas for Kids, and everyday time outdoors.

And the location makes it even more interesting. The park sits next to the Captain John Mullan Museum and near the historic route of the Mullan Military Road.

That’s one of the things I enjoy about North Idaho. You don’t have to look far to find places where the past and present come together.

Rathdrum Mountain is a local favorite for everything from scenic views and ATV rides to peaceful walks through the forest. And one of its newest additions, the Story Walk trail, is a fun way to enjoy the outdoors while following a children's book along the path.
