Sometimes saying “no” is the best thing you can do for your future.
Last year, we fell in love with a little fixer-upper. It needed work, but we thought maybe — just maybe — it could become something special.
We made an offer for $175K, with one condition: the septic inspection had to go well.
The seller refused. They wanted $275K.
We walked away, even though part of us wanted to fight for it.
It wasn’t easy, but we told ourselves, if it’s not profitable, it’s not meant for us.
Months later, the house sold for $321K.
We thought, “Wow… people really have no idea what they’re stepping into.”
Last week, since we live in a flood zone area, we decided to drive by — just to see how that property was holding up.
And our knowledge was 100% right. The yard looked like a septic pool. 💩
That drive reminded us — knowledge and experience always pay off.
Now, we’re working on a new project to help first-time home buyers make smarter decisions — to ask the right questions, understand inspections, and avoid costly surprises.
