People assume homeowners sell because something went wrong. Usually, it’s the opposite. Life changed, and the house didn’t.

Here’s what it often sounds like when someone calls me:

They’re ready to trade a larger home or acreage for something smaller with less maintenance. Maybe that means a condo near the Bremerton waterfront, a smaller home in Poulsbo, or a community where someone else handles the yard.

They’re ready to spend fewer rainy winters here and more time somewhere warm. Sunshine, outdoor dinners, and fewer weekends spent keeping up with the house.

Military orders or a new job are taking them somewhere else, and the move comes with a timeline that doesn’t leave much room for guesswork.

They bought in 2016 and recently discovered how much equity they may have built. Now they’re wondering what that could make possible.

None of that means they stopped loving Kitsap. It simply means their home no longer fits the life they want now.

Most people moving to Kitsap County start with the areas they’ve heard the most about.
But the right fit really depends on how you want your day-to-day life to look. 👀

Here’s how I’d actually narrow it down:

🏡 Manette if you want neighborhood charm, local restaurants and coffee shops, and easy access to the Bremerton waterfront and ferry.

🌲 Poulsbo if you want a small-town feel, a walkable waterfront downtown, local shops and restaurants, and easy access to North Kitsap.

🛍️ Silverdale if you want to be close to shopping, restaurants, everyday conveniences, and a central location for getting around Kitsap.

🌊 Bremerton if you want a mix of established neighborhoods, waterfront access, local restaurants and breweries, and the option to commute to Seattle by ferry.

You can learn a lot from listing photos, but they won’t tell you what it actually feels like to live in each community.

And so we market homes accordingly.

👉 Sellers remember 2021 prices, buyers are hoping for 2008 deals, and somehow 90s music still has us convinced no time has passed. 🎶😂

But the real estate market? It’s firmly in 2026.

Today’s market calls for looking past the headlines and focusing on what the numbers are actually telling us right now.
