Enjoy the day, fire up the grill, maybe head to the parade, spend time with family and friends...all the good things Memorial Day brings.

Around here, we’ll probably do a little grilling, relax in the hammock with a good book, and maybe take a walk together. Simple stuff. The kind of day that reminds you to slow down and appreciate the people around you.

But somewhere in the middle of the fun, we hope everyone takes a quiet moment to remember what this day is really about.

We’re thinking today about friends we’ve lost who served this country with courage and sacrifice. Their absence is felt, but so is their impact. Memorial Day isn’t just the unofficial start of summer, it’s a day to honor the men and women who gave everything for the freedoms of days like this.
